Onward Search Events: ideaXLR8R Mobile Social Brainstorm

When the combined potential of mobile technology and social media are leveraged by really sharp folks, everyone benefits. That’s why we were so excited to throw our thinking caps into the ring at the very first ideaXLR8R Mobile Social Brainstorm!

Here’s the concept behind the World Bank hosted, Onward Search sponsored, iStrategyLabs event: The world is becoming increasingly connected and most of that connection is initially facilitated by mobile devices and social media platforms. The World Bank hosted this event to group-source 3 workable mobile-social media concepts that can be turned into actionable products for their web program by the end of the year. The goal is to align online campaigns with a rapidly changing environment where accountability, transparency and results are paramount.

Sounds pretty cool, right? The event was a huge success and all the Onward Search team members from our Philadelphia, D.C. and Wilton, CT offices were thrilled to participate.

The event brought together mobile technology and marketing experts from leading companies such as Nokia, Redcross, Microsoft and Intel, just to name a few. The picture below captures the collaborative nature of the event.

Lisa Lake, Client Services Director, Kevin Clark, Chairman, CEO and co-founder, and Rose Jackson, Director, Staffing Services, took a quick break from the ideation to smile for a photo-op.

When I asked Rose what the best part of the event was, she said, “It was gratifying to watch these different groups of people come together, collaborate and come up with these new concepts within hours, while keeping the World Banks mission intact.”

Ed, Zach and Lisa from the DC team, along with Rose, were happy to brainstorm with Peter Corbett, Founder and CEO of iStrategyLabs.

The results of this brainstorming session were fantastic and World Bank is charging into the rest of 2011 equipped with 3 innovative and workable product ideas. You’ll find more pictures from the event on the World Bank Flickr Photo Collection.

Credit for all photos in this blog post goes to World Bank, but credit for the fantastic ideas generated during this event goes to all the attendees. Great job everyone!
